Donations

A donation is a one-off tip to a creator. Unlike a subscription, it’s a single payment — great for celebrating a moment on stream.

Sending a donation

1. On a channel (or during a live stream), select Donate.
2. Choose a preset amount or enter a custom one.
3. Optionally add a message and choose to donate anonymously.
4. Pick a payment method and confirm.

If you donate during a live stream, your tip can trigger an on-screen alert for the creator and viewers.

Donations are between €2.00 and €500.00. Individual creators can set their own presets and their own tighter limits within that range, along with a cooldown between tips from the same person.

Payment methods

Donations are one-off, so they support a wider range of methods than subscriptions. Depending on your country and the creator’s setup you may see:

• Cards and card-backed wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link).
• Local methods such as MB WAY (Portugal), Bizum (Spain), iDEAL (Netherlands), Bancontact (Belgium), and EPS (Austria).

The exact list depends on your region and which methods the creator’s account has enabled. Some methods (like MB WAY or Bizum) send you to your banking app to approve, then return you to the channel.

Note

You’ll only ever see the methods that actually work for that creator, so you can’t hit a dead end. Some methods (e.g. PayPal) aren’t available for donations at all.

If a creator can’t be tipped

A creator can only take money if their own country is one we can pay out to (the EEA, UK, US, Canada and Switzerland). If a creator is based elsewhere, donating to them fails with a message saying they can’t accept donations in their country — nothing is charged. It’s not about where you are.

Fees & “cover fees”

Before you confirm, you’ll see a breakdown: the amount, the platform fee, the estimated processing fee, and what the creator receives. You can tick Cover transaction fees to add the processing fee on top so the creator keeps more.

Anonymity

Ticking Donate anonymously hides your username from the public alert and the creator’s public donation list. (Creators may still need to identify payments for support or refunds.)

Your donation history

My Donations in the top-bar menu shows every donation you’ve made — when, to whom, what you sent, what you were charged, and its status (pending, succeeded, failed, refunded, disputed, or partially refunded).

Setting a spending limit

The same page lets you set a monthly spending limit, showing what you’ve spent this month and how much headroom is left.

Note

Lowering or setting a limit takes effect immediately. Raising or removing it takes 24 hours — you set the change, then come back and confirm it after the waiting period. This is deliberate: it means a limit can’t be undone in the heat of the moment.

If a creator blocks you

Creators can block specific people from donating to them. If you’re blocked on a channel, your donation is refused there; it doesn’t affect any other channel or your account.
