Everything here is available to every channel — there’s nothing to enable and nothing to earn.
Moderators & VIPs
Moderators can time out, ban, warn and delete messages, and change chat modes.
- Add one from Studio → Moderators: search a username and select Promote. The list shows who’s a moderator and since when, with a remove button.
- Or use
/mod <username>and/unmod <username>in chat.
VIPs get a badge and can chat through slow mode and followers-only mode, but have no moderation powers. Grant with /vip <username> and remove with /unvip.
VIPs are not exempt from your blocked-terms filter.
Chat modes
Set these with chat commands or the chat settings panel:

| Unique chat | Blocks repeated and copy-pasted messages. |
| Chat delay | Holds everyone except moderators back by a few seconds. |
Chat delay
Chat delay gives your moderators a head start on anything nasty. Choose 2, 4, 6, 10, 20 or 30 seconds in chat settings.
The sender sees their own message immediately, and moderators see it straight away marked as pending — everyone else sees it once the delay elapses. That window is what lets a moderator delete something before the channel ever sees it.
Blocked terms
Chat settings → Blocked Terms is a per-channel word filter. Matching is case-insensitive, works on phrases, and supports * as a wildcard (scam*site).
A blocked term rejects the message and tells the sender it contained a blocked term. Nobody is banned or timed out. You and your moderators bypass the filter so you can still discuss a term; VIPs don’t.
This is different from Shield Mode terms, which ban on sight — see Mod View & Shield Mode.
Holding messages for review
The held queue — think of it as a light AutoMod — stops selected messages from posting until a moderator approves them. The sender is told their message is being reviewed.
Turn it on in Chat settings → Held Queue, then choose which triggers apply. All of them start off:
- Hold all first-time chatters — every first message in your channel waits for approval.
- Hold first-timer links — only when a first-time chatter posts a link.
- Hold watch-list terms — a separate list from Blocked Terms: instead of rejecting the message, it queues it.
- Hold possible ban evaders — messages from accounts the platform associates with a banned one.
Held messages appear in Mod View with the reason they were held, and Approve / Deny buttons. Anything nobody acts on is denied automatically after your chosen time limit (60 minutes by default).
Bans, timeouts and warnings

| Warning | Chat is replaced for that viewer with your warning; they must acknowledge it before they can talk again. |
You can attach a reason to a ban or timeout, and it’s shown to the viewer. Reasons on warnings are required.
A ban or timeout also clears that user’s recent messages. Bans are per-channel.
Revoking a warning. Only the channel owner can lift a pending warning, which clears it without the viewer having to acknowledge it.
Deleting and restoring. A deleted message is hidden from viewers and shown struck through to moderators. It can be restored for about a minute afterwards if it was a mistake.
Everything gets logged
Every moderation action — bans, timeouts, deletions, mode changes, promotions, warnings, held-message decisions, Shield Mode activity, and poll, prediction and giveaway actions — is recorded with who did it. The log lives in Mod View, where you and your moderators can scroll and filter it.
