Notifications

The notification bell in the top bar tells you about activity that matters to you.

The bell

• A badge shows how many notifications are unread.
• Open the bell for recent items, and mark them read individually or all at once.
• Selecting a notification takes you to the relevant page.

Account → Notifications has the full history — paginated, with mark-read and delete — plus your preferences.

What you can turn off

Each of these has a single switch in Account → Notifications. Everything is on unless you turn it off.

Channels you follow

• A channel you follow went live
• A new video from a channel you follow

Your content and activity

• Someone commented on your video
• Someone replied to your comment
• Someone clipped your stream
• Your clip was featured
• Video processing updates
• A new follower

Money

• You received a donation
• You have a new subscriber (also emailed)
• Your subscription was confirmed (also emailed)

Moderation

• A moderation action was taken
• Your content was removed
• Your unban request was reviewed

Note

There is one switch per notification, covering both the bell and the email where that notification is also emailed. You can’t keep the email but silence the bell, or the other way round.

What always reaches you

Some notifications can’t be turned off, because they tell you something you need to know about your account, your money, or your standing.

Security — password changed, two-factor changed, a new sign-in, your email address changed.

Your account — banned, suspended, or reinstated.

Money and creator status — subscription paused, ending, resumed, or ended because a channel was suspended; a crypto-funded subscription that failed to renew; becoming eligible for or being granted Affiliate; a Partner application approved or rejected; creator level revoked; monetization suspended or resumed; a payout account restricted or restored; a negative balance; an attestation you need to complete; a copyright strike.

Reviews you asked for — an access request or a server change that’s been reviewed.

Sign-in alerts

You get an email every time your account is signed into, with the approximate location, device, browser and IP address.

The bell only tells you about sign-ins from a new device — so routine logins don’t flood it, but an unfamiliar one still stands out.

If a sign-in wasn’t you: change your password, and review your active sessions in Account → Security.

Getting “now live” alerts

Following a channel is what puts its go-live notifications in your bell. You can also turn notifications off for one channel without unfollowing it. See Following & feed.
